1. The Point of Journalism:
From the dictionary: the activity or profession of writing for newspapers, magazines, or news websites or preparing news to be broadcast. Independent news is more abundant in a democratic society than in a closed authoritarian one. Many folks may disagree, prompting a feeling of bias, but the fact we are discussing different viewpoints without being placed in jail, means we are part of a democratic culture.
Talk, entertainment, opinion for clickbait strength, assertion, and propaganda (along with false science-backed data of advertising) make up a lot more of the internet than journalism. However, these bites of news and reporting are generally considered more valuable than the fluff described above. The value of journalism is its purpose, to provide verifiable information people can use to make better decisions. Journalists also delve to find the truth behind the facts, since some pseudo-facts are just brushed as truth to make up a mainstream media story.
2. The Point of Opinion and Life in journalism
Opinion pieces are important in journalism because once you have studied a subject and its reliable information, you need to make a judgment call as to the important data points. This is where science falls into the news since a true study can produce findings, but conclusions are usually drawn by the media and journal sources.
Life experience again leads to individual journalism. For example, if a politician continues to lie, then experience tells you this is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. You are probably not going to listen to this person.

From Wikipedia: Opinion journalism is journalism that makes no claim of objectivity. Although distinguished from advocacy journalism in several ways, both forms feature a subjective viewpoint, usually with some social or political purpose. Common examples include newspaper columns, editorials, op-eds, editorial cartoons, and punditry.
Here at KVSVapes. com, we strive for all of the above – News, Opinion, advocacy, and life experience. They all add to the narrative of our focus: Vaping vs Smoking.
3. Why Independent Journalists Are Important
Merely engaging in a journalistic-like activity – snapping a cell phone picture at a scene or creating a blog site for news and comment – doesn’t produce a journalistic product. There is a distinction between the act of journalism and the end result, The journalist places the public good above all else. They believe the public should know the facts behind claims, and if those facts (and the truth behind the facts) support the claims or not. it is phenomenal how much journalism has turned towards clickbait, the latest trends, and providing content the subscriber base wants to hear.
I have a fact-based background concerning tobacco harm reduction. It’s why I say quitting Cold Turkey is safer than quitting using e-cigarettes. However, Cold Turkey is not as effective (with vaping leading the quit success rate of all products by at least 7%). I don’t stand on a political side when it comes to reporting, though there is some bias regarding the Truth Initiative and Bloomberg’s pet projects and political donations. If there were some truth that Evali was produced by e-cigarette use, then I would jump up and sound the alarm.

Because it is far easier to lower and quit vaping than it is to Cold Turkey cigarettes.
